A hands-on creative earth-centred approach to learning about herbs.
For mothers and their daughters (aged 8-12) who love plants, the outdoors, kitchen alchemy, and learning through art.
This Mother-Daughter Herbal Immersion is a 12 week series of classes where we immerse ourselves into the wonderful, magical world of healing herbs. Loosely based on the Herb Fairies series of books, we explore one new herb each week and learn how to make, use and share herbal remedies with our families. Each week includes circle time, herbal stories and activities to build plant allies and herbal knowledge, sketching in our herbal journals, and hands-on herbal remedy making. You will learn to make simple herbal salves, balms, syrups, infusions, herbal oils, hair rinses, glycerites, pastilles, kitchen treats, and more! We will build relationship with 12 plants including violet, dandelion, chickweed, calendula, elderberry, burdock, marshmallow, chamomile, lemon balm, and rose.
REGISTRATION WILL OPEN SOON. Space is limited to 6 families.
Cost: $10/per week + HST ($120 + HST) Dates: Thursdays 4-5:30 pm, to be confirmed (fall 2017)
