For more than a decade we have offered hundreds of practical hands-on classes on basic skills for earth-centred living:
building with local natural materials (cob, strawbale)
growing, harvesting &seed saving from the garden
food preservation, fermentation, cold cellaring
foraging for wild edibles & medicinal herbs
growing & using herbal plants for food & medicine
soap making & herbal healing remedies
preparing meals from real whole ingredients
sourdough & baking in an outdoor wood-fired oven
keeping chickens & bees & vermicomposting (worms)
mending, sewing, knitting & other hand skills
living simply within your means
cultivating a slowed-down hands-on life
involving children on the homestead!
We believe that in our busy world many people are longing to find ways to slow down and build deeper connections to the earth, themselves, and their communities. We hope that our classes can offer skills that encourage this re-connection, and inspire others along their path to greater self-reliance.
Unfortunately, due to the COVID-19 situation we will not be holding our usual hands-on classes here this year.
