Herbs - German Chamomile (Matricaria recutita)

About:

A sweet-smelling perennial that will self-seed and spread slowly. Closely related to the Roman Chamomile, with many of the same medicinal properties.

Sun/Soil

Prefers dry well-drained soil, and part sun to full sun (may tolerate some shade).

Culinary Uses

Used to flavour baking, syrups for icecream, and savoury dishes. Also a wonderful calming after-dinner tea.

Medicinal Uses

Chamomile is known for it's calming, relaxing properties that have traditionally been used to calm stress and promote a peaceful sleep. A favourite tea for young children. Has been used to soothe teething pains. Flowers can be infused in olive oil for a calming massage oil. Also made into floral extracts (floral waters, flower essences), and tinctures. It's bitter qualities make a wonderful addition to digestive bitters.

Comes in a compostable pot, hardened off and ready to plant. Grown with organic seed and organic soil.
