Herbal Medicinal Vinegars - June 22
Dates: Sat, June 22
Time: 10-12 noon
Facilitator: Karin Kliewer, traditional herbalist
Join the folk herbalism tradition of making herbal medicinal vinegars for your household. Nourish and care for yourself using medicinal herbs steeped in organic apple cider vinegar. Vinegar draws out minerals from wonderful "superfood" herbs like nettle and dandelion root, and can be used daily as a tonic and digestive aide.
We'll be making a huge batch of nettle vinegar (and dandelion, burdock and a few others!) in this hands-on class. You will learn about the specific medicinal and nutritive benefits of nettle, and versatile ways for how to use your vinegars. Taste some of the vinegars we have made here at Little City Farm, including digestive bitters, fire cider, and ACvinegar drinks like "shrub" whose popularity dates back to the Victorian Era.
