Goat Milk Soap Making - SOLD OUT
Date: Saturday, March 2
Time: from 10 am-12 noon
Facilitator: Karin Kliewer, local herbalist & soap maker
No, we haven't acquired goats at Little City Farm, but we do love making goat milk soap with local fresh goat milk! Come learn why!
Beautiful handmade goat milk soaps are wonderful for helping heal dry skin, eczema, and for anyone with sensitive skin. Goat milk soaps are wonderfully moisturizing and nourishing for our skin, and can be used by all ages from child to elder. Many people claim it helps their skin to stay young and vibrant looking and feeling. And organic goat milk can be sourced from LOCAL farms!
In this workshop we will discuss these benefits of goat milk soap and then delve right into making a batch of goat milk soap together. Participants will work in small groups, with each person taking home 1 lb of soap (about 4 large bars) of organic goat milk soap at the end of the class. Participants will each have choices about adding ground oats, organic botanicals (e.g. lavender, sage, chamomile, rose, calendula), or pure essential oils into their goat milk soaps.
We ask that participants are already familiar with the basics of cold process soap making, and ideally have made cold process soap before (we will not talk about basic soap making in this class).
All ingredients, tools and safety gear (goggles, rubber gloves) will be provided. We use only certified organic oils and pure essential oils in our soap classes (no synthetic oils or fragrances, and no palm oil is used).
IMPORTANT - What to bring along:
- one large old towel
